Her Story
Through writing, storytelling and designing, Mara is able to create long-lasting communities for brands, organizations, and individuals. Mara joined Working Within in April 2022 to help establish the brand, visual identity, and tone through the company’s online and media presence. Mara has used her knowledge and years in the industry to create Working Within’s marketing strategy as well as hit KPIs and goals needed to grow and build on our social platforms. She performs audience and competitor analyses to determine exactly what direction the organization needed to enhance Working Within’s competitive edge as a communications hub and platform.
Prior to Working Within, Mara worked as the Social Media Officer for called Action for Children, a non-profit organization based in the UK. There, she built campaigns that raised over £1,000,000 for the organization and brought in over 30k new followers to the Instagram platform alone, reaching 1,000,000 people per month with the content created.
Originally from Memphis, Tennessee, Mara’s knack for songwriting landed her a spot in London at The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance. She received a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Songwriting and graduated first in her class. She showcased her love for performing the songs she’d written in her courses at university throughout the UK and was part of an all girl’s Bruce Springsteen cover band titled ‘The She Street Band’ performing sold out shows in auditoriums around the country. She combines all of these elements and experiences in her work every day to build strong, long-lasting communities targeted at the right audiences for a brand.
Mara currently resides in Florence, Italy and is fluent in both Italian and English. In addition to her role at Working Within, she continues to write and release songs on various streaming platforms. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, making music, cooking, trying new restaurants, going to museums and reading.
