"I love working at Working Within because I get to bring my whole self to the work — my background in social work, my years building relationships with community organizations, and my genuine belief that when nonprofits thrive, the people they serve do too."

Jennifer Johnson is a Development Director at Working Within, where she partners with nonprofit leaders to grow and diversify their revenue through strategic relationship-building and disciplined account management. With more than 15 years of experience across development, corporate partnerships, and philanthropy, she has managed portfolios of 150+ high-value partners, secured five- and six-figure commitments from corporate and institutional funders, and driven measurable growth for organizations across the Denver metro. Most recently, she exceeded her annual revenue goal by 58% at Rocky Mountain Public Media, generating $750K+ in a single year through the kind of consultative, trust-based approach that turns donors and partners into long-term advocates.

Jennifer holds a Master of Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, cum laude, from Memphis State University. Her roots in social work give her a distinctive lens — she understands the communities nonprofits serve not just professionally, but personally, and brings that authenticity into every client engagement. She has held leadership roles at organizations including the Denver Public Library Friends Foundation, Boulder Valley Health Clinic, Mi Casa Resource Center, and JVA Consulting, where she helped nonprofit and public-sector clients achieve 15–25% revenue growth through strategic partnership and funding initiatives.
